"We follow it. I'm not letting one of those vans get away from me again," Jon said. And with that, he sprinted into the mist, not knowing what he'd find on the other side.
Biff stood there for a moment. Perhaps a moment too long. And then he ran after Jon.
On the other side of the mist was...what looked like a warehouse. There were boxes labeled with barcodes, the same blue-clad men putting stuff on shelves. They seemed to be unloading items from the vans and loading new ones on.
Jon could see Tina being loaded onto a gurney and pushed in a separate direction from the stuff she'd come with. She seemed to have a barcode as well, placed like a hospital bracelet around her wrist.
Biff appeared a few moments after Jon.
Jon felt an odd familiarity to the place. as if he'd been here before. He had a sudden flash of memory. He was tied to a gurney...they were saying something failed...he couldn't remember the rest.
"What is this place?" Biff whispered. There were workmen everywhere. It was like following bees to their nest.
