She obviously didn't see anything strange about the current situation. Having Sarah in the house, it seemed, wasn't that different from having Zoe there.
Jon looked around for a moment, and then headed out into the hallway. He knew it wasn't the stone, he hadn't used it. But, it was some sort of magic. All the pictures hanging in the hallway showed brown haired Sarah.
Whoever those people were, they had covered everything. He'd seen them load everything in a black van when he'd been trying to wake Zoe.
He was still standing there when Sarah got out of the bathroom. "I'm done with the shower..." she paused. "Are you all right?" She asked, sounding almost...concerned.
"Umm...yeah," he lied.
"Mom said she's working late tonight. I told her I'd watch Mikey. Are you going to be around? She said we could order a pizza."
"Sure," he said, unable to stop looking at her strangely.
"What? Do I have a pimple or something?" She asked, looking at her face in the hall mirror.
"No...just, I'm not used to you being so...nice."
Sarah looked at him. "Come on, Jon...You're kind of a dork, but you are my brother."
"And you wouldn't rather be someone else?" He asked, curiously, testing her.
"Yeah, rich and famous. But right now, I have to get ready for school. Mom is already upset about my grades."
She hurried off when her phone started ringing. "Yeah, sorry, I was trying to beat my brother to the shower. Don't you call him a dork, only I get to call him a dork..." she closed the door.
Jon paused. Was this what Sarah would be like if she hadn't been raised as a spoiled rich brat? While he wasn't complaining about a nicer Sarah in the world, he needed to get to the bottom of this.
He needed to get dressed and over to Karyn's place to figure this out.
