"You think we're dating?" Jon asked.
"What do you mean by 'think'? Jon, we've been dating for almost two months now," Sarah said. She narrowed her eyes. "Are you sure you're okay? I think you're having memory problems."
I think you're the one with the memory problems, Jon thought. He didn't say it out loud. He almost did, but he decided to keep it all to himself. Right now, it was better to have a cooperative Sarah than a bitchy one. He could confront her about her obvious memory alteration later, after they figured out where they were and why they were there.
"I suppose," Jon said back to her. "Just forget I asked that, okay? We need to figure out where we are."
"Did you see anyone or talk to anyone yet?" she asked.
"No. I heard some voices before I was put in here, but that was all. I think they might have been doctors or scientists or something."
"Maybe if we pound on the door and demand some answers, they'll talk to us," Sarah suggested.
Jon already tried that, but doing it again probably wouldn't hurt. What was the alternative? Stay locked up in here for who knew how long, waiting for someone to come by? No thanks. Jon wasn't exactly the patient type.
"Okay, let's get their attention," Jon said.
Both of them approached the outer door and began pounding and kicking it, yelling out that they wanted to see someone in authority to tell them why they were there.
