Jon suddenly spotted Zoe walking on the other side of the street. However, she wasn't dressed in her usual Goth outfit. Instead, she was dressed in a conservative-looking blouse and pantsuit, something an older corporate-type woman might wear. It was a type of outfit that Zoe wouldn't be caught dead in. But it was definitely her. It was definitely his sister.
He ran up to her. "Zoe, am I glad to see a familiar face."
She looked at him. "Where have you been all night?" she asked, a combination of anger and concern on her face. "And what did you call me?"
"Zoe..."
"You must have had some night. My name isn't Zoe. It's Barbara Donnelly." She paused for a moment. "Let's get you inside before the neighbors hear," she said, taking his arm and pulling him toward the house in front of him.
Jon just let himself be dragged. What was wrong with her?
