Leonard found himself standing in front of the former Linda Gibson. He could hardly breathe. His body had been squeezed into a cheerleader's uniform. If he had weighed just a little more -- and if not for mystic forces enabling it to stretch -- it might have begun to tear. "Where am I?"
"Where's Lauren?" asked Linda.
"Who?" Leonard didn't keep track of who was on the cheerleading squad. On the other hand, he did know the crews of the various ships in the Star Trek franchise by heart. Or at least he used to. Star Trek was quickly becoming just a name for him.
"How'd you get here?" Linda was visibly disgusted by Leonard's bulk.
"Uh ..." Leonard tried to think of a scientific explanation, but couldn't. He didn't even have the vocabulary for one anymore. "M-magic, I guess." He had no way of knowing that he was right. No technology known to man could have added a natural red tint to his hair -- or a few freckles on his nose. "I gotta take this thing off!" He was losing an ounce a second, but he still felt uncomfortable in his new clothes.
"No!" Linda now had a teenager's voice. "Gross!"
