"Mom?" Linda laughed. "What's with you today? It's like you're a million miles away."
Jon blinked. "I'm having a weird day," he said, honestly.
"And I'm talking about my problems," she replied. "Sorry...what's wrong?"
He was about to reply when the car stopped. Zoe turned around. "Hurry up and get your bag. We don't want to be late."
"We'll talk later," Linda whispered. "She's a real control freak sometimes."
"I heard that," Zoe said. "I'm two feet away and I'm not deaf," Zoe said.
Jon stepped out of the car, and walked up to the house and knocked on the door, uncertain of what he'd find behind it.
