Once the three of them had returned to the house, Zoe resumed her position on the couch and Stephie went to their new mother before rushing upstairs. Jon was rather glad for that. Stephie seemed to be answering questions he was in no position to answer, and what she knew raised questions of Jon's own.
With all that's happening, Jon decided the next thing he needed to do was find out what else would change. Stephie's story made him hesitate before using the wishing stone again for some reason. Perhaps it would be best to investigate the old fashioned way.
"How much longer until dinner?" Jon asked the woman that was now his mother.
Mia looked back over at Jon and smiled. "Not much longer. Don't go wandering off," she said. Seems this mother could read him just as well as the old one could.
There no time to go anywhere before dinner, but Jon figured one phone call wouldn't hurt. Pulling out his cell phone, Jon began flipping through his contacts, looking for both the familiar and unfamiliar...
