As they walked back towards their house, Jon took another look at Stephie, wondering not for the first time today what exactly was going on here.
Stephie looked back at Jon. She wondered what other scary surprises were in store for her now that she had a brother, and what she could do about it.
They arrived at an unfamiliar house. This must be Jon's house, Stephie figured, and headed inside. Stephie relaxed when she saw her mother. She looked older, and perhaps a bit more tired, but basically the same.
Stephie ran and gave her a big hug, holding on very tightly.
"Stephie, what's wrong?" Her mother said, comfortingly. "Not that I don't appreciate a bear hug now and then.
"Just...missed you," she said, softly.
"Well, I'm not going anywhere sweetie. Go upstairs and wash your hands. Dinner will be ready in a second. Oh, and call your sister.
Stephie nervously trudged up the stairs, and found that her mother had, like at home, labelled her door. She peeked inside, and relaxed a bit more. It looked like her room at home...only it was here. Most of the things she remembered were there.
She turned, and went to look for her sister, hoping it was Bibi.
