Mandy put down her phone. "She hung up on me..."
"Well, what did you expect her to do?" Amber said. "Hanging up is rude, but...she's not going to hire someone to sabotage Death Pew or something."
"Our rivalry with them is not childish," she said. "I say we all go over to whatever hole they are playing in and have this out once and for all. In a mature way," she said. "Musician to musician."
Amber looked at her. "A Band Battle? What is this, a Disney movie?"
Mandy shook her head. "We play different kinds of music, but our audiences are both mostly people in their teens and twenties. That blog said that place they were playing at is trying to go mainstream. They are trying to steal our audience."
"Maybe it is time to talk this out," Amber said. "Be the bigger band."
Trish looked over, a bit nervously. "What if they try to beat us up or something? I mean...they are pretty scary."
"We'll be in public...what are they going to do?" Mandy said.
"I don't think this is such a good idea," Trish said. "We should just avoid them like the plague."
Daria's phone beeped with a text message. She inwardly cursed as she read it, but was thankful that one of the band had the sense to give her a heads up and turned to Nathan. "One of my other clients is about to get themselves into a bit of trouble," she said. "I have to head it off." She reached for a standard contract. "Before I do, if you are truly interested, sign here, and our relationship will be official."
Nathan skimmed the contract. "Seems fair," he said. "I have a few things to do to settle in."
"Would you like me to drop you off somewhere on my way?"
Nathan thought about it. "Well..."
Mandy and the gang were on their way out of the hotel when someone came up to them. "Oh, my god...you're my favorite band..."
They were all blissfully unaware that the person in question did not look like their typical high school to college age fan...
