Allison reached into her purse and pulled out an organizer she hadn't known was there, and opened it.
The handwriting was immaculate, precise and clearly thought out. It read, "Notes for Meeting at Lake Point High School. Meeting with administration and librarian. Point 1, based on county population, minorities should be at at least a quarter of the school, however, few of them attend this high school." She paused. She'd seen one black girl in the hall...not exactly a quarter of the student body.
She paused again, wondering why she was thinking about this at all, and the only answer came back was a reminder to herself that the mayoral elections were in only a few months...
"Councilwoman," a voice said. "I'm sorry to keep you waiting..."
