Jenny had spent most of the morning at home. She tried to calm down, after the day's events, and waited, just in case Alana came home.
She found herself in her office. Jenny worked afternoons and weekends at the local public library, as a children's librarian. And while she occasionally went to the local elementary schools for programs, she was mostly free in the morning to do her own thing.
Lately, that had been trying her hand at writing and illustrating her own stories. She didn't think she'd ever get published, but it was a nice diversion. She also ran errands, and tended to her sister's house. With the budget cuts, she didn't work 40 hours a week anymore.
Her sister wasn't answering her cell phone, and it was time for work. She grabbed her bag, which included the tablet she was writing the book on and her inspiration, and hurried out the door to the library.
