Alana looked with uncertainty at Sorrow. The woman had tricked her, certainly, and was messing with the parent's minds, but her intentions didn't seem all bad. Still, she knew now it was a good idea not to trust her, and her parents still needed to be dealt with.
As Alana turned to try and turn her parents apart again, Sorrow turned back to Quill. "So can we keep her? I promise to feed her and pick up after her when she takes a dump indoors," she said, in a playful tone.
Quill was not amused. "That's her decision, not mine. She has her whole life ahead of her, and I don't want you mindfucking her into tagging along."
"Oh, come on now, I can't actually make people do things they don't already want to do on some level. I'm a hypnotist, not a magician."
"Really? Well you seem to be doing a real fucking number on those guys."
Sorrow looked over at Sierra, Kyle, and Alana. "Yeah, I guess so. Something about the people in this town. They just seem to really take things to heart."
"Maybe. But that means you still need to fix it."
"Aw, but it was just starting to get good..."
"Well at least make it so that when those two snap out of it, things won't get even more crazy. Make it so they ease out of it, or excuse their weird behavior to stress, or something where they don't come back with the police!"
"Police? It's just a bit of harmless fun."
"Well then make sure it ends harmlessly."
"Ugh, fine, I'll smooth things over, okay?"
"Good. Try anything else, and I'll sic Angelique on you."
"Okay, okay, no need to threaten me!" Sorrow said, heading towards the family.
