Gary Meadows, the former father of Biff, was still trying to figure out what was happening. About ten minutes ago, he got a call from some guy that he didn't know, and then the next moment, he was wearing a dress that his wife Lorraine might wear.

He paused, suddenly feeling confused about that. Who was Lorraine again?

Gary shook his head as he stood up from his desk in his office and then headed out. He wasn't sure where he was headed, but ...

"Oh, Gary, there you are," a voice said from behind him. He knew that voice. It belonged to Matt Whitman, one of his employees. Gary blinked, as that sounded wrong. No, he wasn't Matt's boss. Matt was his boss. "I still need you to answer the phone this afternoon. So don't be heading out anywhere just yet."

Gary turned and weakly smiled at the man. "Of course, Mr. Whitman." Then he headed in a different direction, towards the secretary's desk. Then he sat behind it. He was a secretary, right? He thought about it for a moment, then smiled. Of course he was a secretary. He pulled out his cellphone and saw that he recently got a call from his friend Kendall. He couldn't remember. Did he answer the call? Maybe he should call Kendall back.

As he sat there, his hair became a little longer, coming down to just above his shoulders. All the rest of his hair (minus eyebrows and eyelashes, of course) was now gone. And his skin was soft and smooth. But he didn't notice any of this.

Gary grabbed his cellphone from his purse, not noticing how his nails had grown out and how they had been painted the color of fuchsia.

He dialed Kendall's number, then waited for his friend to answer.

Kendall tried to keep his mind on the road. He had already slipped three times since leaving the high school and he didn't intend on slipping again. If he could only get back to the military base. Agent Willis and the others should be there any minute. Morris could stabilize and possibly reverse his metamorphosis. He briefly wondered how Thompson was doing, before his cell phone went off.

He took his eyes off the road and grabbed the phone, realizing (to his surprise) that his nails had gotten longer and were now painted. He answered the phone.

"Oh, Kendall. I'm so glad I caught you," a man's voice said, almost effeminately. He recognized the man's voice. It was the guy he called earlier, after he accidentally slipped into his new persona. Why was the man calling him back? And why was he acting like ...

Kendall's eyes went wide as realization came to him. The man had been affected by the phenomenon. And he had a feeling that he was the cause. He must have "infected" the man when he called him.

He was about to hang up the phone ... but that would be so rude. Gary was his friend, after all.

Kendall looked at the road. Where was he? Was he out of town? What in heaven's name was he doing way out here?

"Hold on a minute, honey," Kendall said, as he made a U-turn and started driving back to town. "Okay, go ahead. Tell me why you called."

Kendall was only a mile away from the base.
