Luckily, Kaitlyn produced an answer on her own. "Wait, I know you. You're one of Sierra's daughters. You must have come all this way to see her. Sorry, sweetie, but your mom's not here right now. She had to go home. Something about your auntie, I think. Hold on one moment, I'll call here now..." she said, pulling out her cell phone.

"Sierra...this is Kaitlyn Ross at the school. I know you said you were going to be out today, but...your daughter is here...What? No, not Alana. Cecelia...No, I don't know how she got here...I'll put her in your office and have your secretary watch her till you get here."

In this new version of reality, Sierra had now been promoted to principal...as the other candidate for the job was now unavailable.

Sierra hung up the phone and looked at Kyle. "We have to go to my office...Cecelia is there."

"Why isn't she in school?"

"I intend to find out how she sneaked out without anyone noticing," Sierra said., sternly.

"Maybe we should split up," Kyle suggested. "I'll keep looking for Alana."

"That's a good idea," Sierra said, worried about her daughters. She looked at him for a moment. "Kyle...I know you and I have been having trouble for a long time," she said, seriously. "But...it means a lot you can be there for us in a crisis."

He looked at her, with a bit of a smile, trying to lighten the mood as they headed toward the house to pick up a second car. "Maybe, when this is all over...we should have a talk," he suggested.

"Maybe," she agree.

They pulled up back at her house, and he got out and headed toward his car. "Call me," he said.

She nodded, and headed toward the school. On the way, she dialed Cecelia's teacher. She had the number on speed-dial. The only problem was, that the person on the other end of the phone had no idea what she was talking about.
