By this time, Colonel Yuki Rogers was at least three miles outside of town and still driving to the nearest military base. During her journey, her pick-up truck turned into a jeep. But other than that and the fact that she herself continued to change, nothing was out of the ordinary. Everything was going fine for her, making good time and all that ... until she reached the base.

She showed the officer at the checkpoint her credentials, but was told that they had no record of her. That was ridiculous, obviously. She was a colonel, not to mention the fact that this wasn't her first time at this base ... as far as her memories told her.

By now, she had aged considerably, becoming 30 years old, and had lost most of her feminine curves. She wasn't there yet, but she was slowly becoming a powerfully-built Caucasian man in his late-thirties.

"Talk to General Preston," Yuki said, her voice sounding deeper. "He'll give me clearance."

The soldiers were reluctant, but did as she said anyway.

As it was, the reason that no one at the base recognized her was because the military base was outside the influence of the stone. Yuki was still changing, yes, but that was because she was first affected by the stone's magic within the town, which was also within the influence of the stone.

"Who?" General Preston asked over the phone. Apparently, there was someone pretending to be a colonel trying to get onto the base. The fake colonel insisted that the General knew her. But he didn't know anyone by the name of Yuki Rogers. "Take her into custody."
