She headed in the direction of home (hoping that no one, especially her mother, saw her like this) to change into something more normal and acceptable, but for some reason, she couldn't remember where she lived.
She was actually heading in the opposite direction. She arrived at what seemed to her to be her house, found a key on her person, and walked inside.
Nadine looked around. She'd never been here before, yet this place seemed utterly familiar. Familiar in the sense she hated it.
She appeared to have interrupted something. It looked to be a family meal. There were four place settings, and a man and a woman she'd never seen before sat there, along with what looked to be their child. There was one empty place setting.
They all looked at her. "Where have you been?"
