During the drive to school, Linda thought back to what happened, trying to work it out in her mind. But the more she thought about it, the less it made sense. And when she thought about how the car had changed from a minivan, she stopped. Why did she think that she had a minivan? Her family consisted of just herself and Mikey. But ... there was this strange feeling at the back of her mind that there should have been more. And then there was her house. A two-floor house was a bit much for only two people. What were all the extra rooms used for?
"We're here," Mikey said, breaking Linda out of her thoughts.
She looked out the window and saw Mikey's school. Kids were milling about and walking inside. Linda turned and looked at Mikey, a bit of confusion in her eyes.
"What?" Mikey asked.
Wasn't Mikey shorter than that? And wasn't his hair shorter and darker?
"Nothing," Linda said, then got out of the car.
