He turned and recognized the person. It was one of his neighbors. How could he not know where he was? This was his apartment building. He lived here.
Jon smiled at the person. "Hi, Kelly," he said. "Heading to work early?"
"Yes," she said, smiling back.
Kelly is a nice enough neighbor, if a bit uptight, Jon thought. "I've just been out on my morning jog...Trying to keep the flab off."
Kelly laughed at that. "What flab? You're in better shape than I am."
Jon looked down at his stomach, not noticing the sports bra starting to fill up, as if someone was blowing up two balloons inside it. Something is very wrong, he said. He wasn't sure what, but he had this bad feeling...he shook it off. "I guess after losing the weight, I want to keep it off," he said.
"Well, I suppose that makes sense, after..."
