But, as it turned out, Karyn Chang wasn't really home alone with just her homework. Because when Jordan left to go with her friends, something had fallen out of her purse, and went unnoticed. It was the wishing stone!
It was when Karyn Chang went to make sure her mom locked the front door (yeah, it was locked) that she found it. She picked it up off the floor and looked oddly at it. It was just a rock. But ... there was something familiar about it. Like it held some kind of importance, but she just couldn't remember what it was.
Shrugging, she put the stone in her pocket. Maybe she'll remember later why it's so important. Right now, it was time to get back to her homework.
