Jon decided he didn't want to spend another day as Penny. He had to be close to getting the password correctly. He was going to take the chance to try again tonight, like his mom said, he can try Geek Squad at best buy or something. He wanted to make the guess good,so he texted Karyn to talk, then she called and caught her up on his guesses.
"Sounds like you tried some good guesses. I feel like Penny would like using 13 for the number, since it is that prime number, plus it is number 13. It would prove she isn't superstitious. I guess I can see why you would choose healing, but I fell like that isn't enough characters. Penny is a math girl, right? So she would want a long password to keep her stuff safe. Let me get out my calculator. Lessee, 52 for the upper and lower case and then 10 for numbers. So, each character adds like 60 times the number of combos. What's a cool power that has a lot of characters?" suggested Karyn
"Wait, so we have to guess a combination when we have like a 1 in a trillion chance?"
"The odds are much worse than than if it is random, but it's not. We know it is a word and a number, so that really narrows it down. Now focus, you are the comic person. What is a cool power?"
"Telekinesis?"
"That's more characters, anything longer?"
"Regeneration? I know it's the same number of letters, but it is related to healing."
"Good point, but there has to be a longer one."
"Invulnerability is the longest I can think of, "added Jon when he heard a knock at the door. His dad peeked his head in
"Penny, it's lights out. School day tomorrow. Please turn off the phone," said his dad. Jon covered his phone.
"Sure dad, I'll just say goodnight," replied Jon. His dad nodded and closed the door. He uncovered the receiver and said, "Karyn, it's lights out in the bunk. Thanks for your thoughts. See you tomorrow, hopefully as me."
"Goodnight, Penny. Just kidding. 'Night Jon" Jon heard a bit of a laugh before the line went dead. He lay on his bed for a moment before getting up and turning off the light. His laptop was still on, and he went to the machine. He stared at it for a moment before saying, "Open Sesame" He typed in Regeneration 13 and paused over the return button. For a moment, he thought about what he would do if it formatted the computer. Then he decided to go for it.
A wallpaper showing Marie Curry came up. Jon immediately searched for the files, and found them. His shoulders relaxed. He spent a few minutes finding himself, as there were quite a few that were close. Thank god for filters. He doubleclicked on his face, and was immediately back in his old room, with the old posters and his original body.
