Mikey was scared, but he felt he had to put on a brave face for Jon, who looked scared. Any thought of anger at his brother was pushed aside. Unlike his brother, he didn't notice this particular shift in his thinking and thus couldn't consider what it meant.
He reached for Jon's hand. "Come on, I'll help you," he said. Jon, after a long moment, took it, squeezing Mikey's hand, and they headed upstairs.
Zoe was heading out of the bathroom when they got there. "Take a shower and get dressed. We'll figure this out, I promise," Mikey said.
Jon nodded, doing what Mikey said.
A few moments after he went in, there was a call from downstairs. "Mikey, Karyn's at the door!"
