"Karyn?" Jon asked, hoping that she still remembered him. His mom already thought that his room was Mikey's room (and vice versa), so who knew what else could be different?
"Yes?" The voice asked.
"It's Jon," he said. "I need to talk to you."
"Okay...sure," Karyn said.
His mother entered the room. "Jon, come on. If Mikey is in the shower, go down and have breakfast. You can talk to your friends later."
"But..." he said.
"No buts...I don't know what is going through your head this morning," she said, taking the phone away and turning it off. "You'll get this back tomorrow," she said.
Jon thought about protesting, but it just didn't seem to be in him. He was beginning to feel very overwhelmed.
