"Hold him still," the third man said, then he took a needle out of his pocket. "You're a very sick man, Mr. Gibson," he said, in a calm voice. "But don't worry. Everything will be fine."

Jon's eyes went wide, then he tried to struggle free from the two men holding him down. But it was no use. The apparent doctor injected him with the needle and the world faded away.

When he woke up, he tried to leave the room, but the door to his room was still locked. He made enough of a noise that the third man, a doctor..the other two being orderlies...at least from the look of their clothes, returned. "You are calm," the doctor said. "That is good. Sit down, and we'll talk, Mr. Gibson."

Jon nodded.

"Let's review a bit from our last session," the doctor continued.

"What last session? I've never seen you before."

He wrote some notes on a clipboard. "Well, I'm going to tell you what you've said, and you tell me whether or not it is correct." Jon nodded again. "When you first were brought here, you were incoherent. After time, you lapsed into disassociative state...totally unresponsive. Then, when you did come to, you did not recall being here. You insisted you were Jon Gibson. You were sixteen years old, and a high school student."

"But that is who I am!" Jon insisted.

"Jon, I hate to be blunt about it, but that life you have been living...it has all been in your head. There are some real facts in it, but most of it isn't true. Every time we come close to reaching you...you withdraw back into your fantasy world and we start all over again. This is the third time we've had this conversation."

Jon stared at him. "What are you talking about?" he said, not believing the man. He needed to make a new wish, and wish himself out of this.

"Sometimes," the Doctor said, putting a hand on Jon's shoulder, "the mind cannot cope with certain traumas. Instead of accepting it, it blocks it out. And in your case, creates a fantasy to replace it. One easier to deal with." Jon looked at him blankly. "Maybe I should just show you. Get it over with." He looked over at one of the orderlies. "Victor, get a mirror please."

"You sure, Doc?" the big bruiser of a man said. "You remember what happened last time."

"You don't want to hurt us, do you, Jon?" The Doctor said, soothingly.

"Umm...no."

Victor returned with a small mirror, about the size of a sheet of paper. The Doctor stepped back, just in case, and angled the mirror so Jon could see himself...
