Jon reached into his pocket and was relieved when he felt his cellphone. He took it out of his pocket and dialed his house. But his relief vanished when he saw that he wasn't getting a signal.
"That's weird. I'm sure there's a cell tower around here," Jon said.
"What is that thing?" the farmer asked.
"You mean my cellphone?" Jon asked, holding it up.
"What's a ... cell ... phone?"
"Oh, come on. You can't be that far out of touch, even out here."
"Son, I've been to a lotta places, but I ain't never seen somethin' like that," he said.
Suddenly, Jon got a bad feeling in his gut. Like he wasn't just somewhere else, but also sometime else. As strange as it seemed, he could have actually time traveled into the past. More and more, he had a feeling that this had something to do with that wish he made the previous night.
Jon braced himself for his next question. "What year is this?"
