The man took a closer look at the nearly naked woman in his foyer, then took a step back, tightening his grip on the baseball bat. "You better explain yourself."

"Honey? Who is it?" a woman asked, from upstairs. Amanda saw her poke her head around the corner.

The man turned towards her. "Julie, stay in the bedroom. And call the cops. We have an intruder."

The woman moved out of view, probably back into into the bedroom.

Now Amanda knew how that boy must have felt. He was probably telling the truth when he said it was an accident. But how could she explain to these people that she accidentally teleported into their house, without sounding like she needed a straight jacket?

"What are you doing in my house? And where are your clothes?" the man asked.

"It's kind of hard to explain. I don't think you'll believe me."

"I called the cops," the woman from upstairs said. "They'll be here in about five minutes."

"You have until then to tell me why you're here," the man said.

"I ... uh ... I teleported?"

The man's face grew more irritated. "I don't want to hear any crazy shit. Just tell me why you're in my house!"

"I'm telling you the truth! I was in my living room and suddenly I was here!"

The man walked towards her, holding the bat like he was planning to use it on her. And as a reflex, Amanda held up the poker that she apparently still had. It had teleported with her.

The man backed off a bit, but stood his ground. "Put that down, lady."

"No. You're going to hurt me. I just know it." She turned and glanced at the door. It was still unlocked, so she could still make a quick getaway. She wasn't too thrilled about running through the neighborhood half-naked, but it would be better than staying here.

She grabbed the doorknob and turned it, opening the door. Then she fled as fast as she could, through the front yard and out onto the road, the grass and pavement scuffing her bare feet as she ran.

"You little bitch," the man said, then chased after her.

Meanwhile, back at Amanda's house, Jon decided to stage a vanishing act of his own. He dashed out of the living room and towards the back of the house. And after finding the back door, he used it and ran out into the backyard.
