I quite liked it; as I kinda hinted at in the latest chapter, I'm not a fan of the mindset that things have to go badly all the time simply because it keeps "drama" maximized. There's still probably some room to explore their reactions (for example, Ricky's dad keeps calling him "son" whereas her mom has already accepted that she's their daughter now, so either he's having a harder time wrapping his head around the idea, or he thinks that Ricky herself might be upset by the acknowledgement - possibly a bit of both,) but it's nice to know that she mostly only has her own side of the issue to deal with.
