Officer Chase knelt down next to her partner and place her hand on his shoulder. It was still odd seeing Maybourn this way, as a little girl, but maybe with this stone, that could all be fixed. Hell, she could probably fix what happened to the entire town.
But right now, she was more concerned about her partner. She sat next to him and waited for him to come back to consciousness, all the while Vic Rudolph (in the guise of a teenage girl) spat obscenities towards her.
"So, what are we waiting for?" George asked. "If this stone thing is really that important, shouldn't we be getting on our way?"
"Well, contrary to popular belief," Scarlet said. "Witches don't ride broomsticks. We need a car."
"Okay, then let's go find one," Karyn said. "I've been looking for the stone all day. I'm not going to let something like stealing a car stop me," she said, leaving the cabin.
Moments later, the rest of them followed. Except for Mary. She stayed behind. Not that anyone noticed, though - they were too focused on getting the stone. She grabbed a book about the occult from one of the bookshelves and began to read it. Suddenly, she found herself to be very interested in the subject.
