"Give me the stone," the teenage girl ordered. "Please?" she added, sounding a bit sweeter.
But instead of doing as she said, Officer Chase drew her weapon and pointed it at her.
"What are you doing?!" the guard yelled from down the corridor. When he saw what was happening, he ran towards the girl and two officers.
Officer Maybourn turned towards his partner. "What are you doing? Stop pointing that at an innocent kid."
"She's not innocent," Chase replied. "Hell, she's not even a she. That's Vic Rudolph and he's already killed at least two people and probably planning to do more."
"Have you lost your mind?" the guard replied, standing right behind the girl. "This is Amy Johnson. The girl I told you about. She's completely innocent. She couldn't hurt a fly."
"Yes she could!" a man's voice yelled out.
"Shut your mouth, Vic! Stop confusing these people!" the guard yelled at the real Amy, thinking that she was Vic.
"Danielle," Maybourn said to his partner. "Put the gun down. You're scaring me."
"Yes, please," the girl pleaded. "Please don't shoot me."
"You're scaring her, lady," the guard said.
"It's all a put on. I know the truth. I used this stone," Chase said, holding it up.
"Give it to me," the girl ordered again.
"Just give her the stone," Maybourn said.
"Is that what all this is about? You won't give her a damn stone?" the guard asked. "Give it to me. I'll give it to her," he said, walking towards Officer Chase. But then Chase pointed the weapon at him too. "What the hell are you doing? Get that thing out of my face!"
They were attracting more attention. Officer Chase could hear footsteps quickly approaching. More guards. More problems. More confusion. There had to be a way to make these people see the truth.
"Come on, Danielle," Maybourn said. "Just put down the weapon. You need help."
"No, you do." She sighed. "I wish you knew what I did." Suddenly, the stone began to glow, causing everyone to look away for a moment.
