Jon walked up to the mall entrance and pulled on the door, but it wouldn't open. "What's going on? The mall's always open at this time."

"Sorry, Miss," a security guard said, approaching. "The mall's been closed, because of this whole ... situation. All residents who haven't been affected yet are ordered to evacuate the town. Anyone who has been affected has been ordered to return home." He looked at Jon for a moment. "Which one are you?"

Jon was about to say that he wasn't affected yet. But then he stopped. He remembered switching with Meagan O'Shea. He was one of the very first people to be switched. Why would he think that he wasn't?

"You're losing yourself again," Angie said, sitting down next to Biff.

"You don't think I fucking know that? But I don't care. I like what I'm becoming. I know you don't. But ..."

"Who said I didn't?" Angie asked.

"You did," Biff said.

Angie blinked. "That's right. I did tell you that. What's wrong with me?"

"I think whatever's happening to me is starting to happen to you too," Biff said.

"Biff!" they heard a voice yelling from downstairs. It sounded like his dad, so it must have been his mom. "Come and eat something!"

Biff slowly stood to his feet and groaned. The more time that passed, the more irritated he was by his parents, which was a personality trait shared by Zoe.

Steve looked up and glared at Trevor as he stumbled into the bedroom with some hot girl.

"I thought you said we'd be alone," the girl whined at Trevor.

"I thought we would. Can you give me a minute to clean this place up?"

The girl shrugged, then walked down the hall.

Trevor walked into the bedroom and closed the door behind him. "What the hell are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here?" Steve asked, slowly standing up. "This is my bedroom. My house. What are you doing here, you fucking ..."

"Get out!" Trevor yelled, pointing at the door. "I'm not going have some freak like you messing up my fun."

"Freak? Hey, I look exactly like you do!"

"Yeah, the way I used to look. But I don't want that life anymore. I want to be sexy. I want girls to love me. I want to have constant sex. I want your life."

"Then you can have it, you fucking asshole. I'm outta here," Steve said, before storming past Trevor and out the door. Once he got outside the house, he stopped himself, wondering what the heck just happened. Did he really just turn away from his life? Did he really want to have Trevor's instead? Why would he want to be a Goth freak? He shook his head, trying to clear his mind and get back some common sense. But those strange feelings were still there. And they were only getting stronger.
