As chompy says, one of the things about Iridescent Sun is that it's much more about exploring the everyday side of the altered world and how it affects the lives of individuals and their relationships with each other than about all the geopolitical ramifications of the things that have happened. I'm not opposed to that kind of speculation on principle, but so much of it is ground that has been so very over-trod (for instance, the idea of some kind of governmentally-instituted registry/watchlist for the changed, which I absolutely nixed early on) and it just tends to drag the story into much darker and more morbid territory simply by the obvious comparisons with power and the abuse thereof in real-world history. That's just not what the story is about, "realistic" though it may be.

That's not aimed at your storyline specifically or anything (I think you're doing an alright job of keeping things under some control, and you've certainly been making a noticeable effort at it,) just a kind of explanation/restatement of thesis in order to clarify the direction. As I said, I don't mind some exploration of that stuff, but I really don't want the story (or even one of the subplots) to be wholly dragged off into that.
