After entering the concrete building, Jon was hit with a peculiar stench, like statically charged air.
The centaur woman had to duck a bit, to fit through the door, then when she finally made it in, she turned towards Jon's family. "You've all been assigned to cabin number fifteen." She looked at the clipboard. "Now, the first one to be changed is ... Zoe." She looked down at Jon's family.
"That's me," the pale girl in black clothing said.
"Just step forward and place your hand on the scanner," the centaur woman said. She pointed at a flat surface sitting on a pedestal. "It will determine what form you will take."
"You mean it's random?" Zoe asked. "I thought we could choose."
"The computer chooses for you. Now, please. Place your hand on the scanner."
Zoe did as she said and suddenly a picture came up on a nearby monitor.
"Just step into the chamber and you'll transform."
Zoe looked hesitant, but then did as the centaur woman said. She entered the metal chamber and the door closed behind her. A blue electrical light filled the interior of it (Jon could see it through the small panes of glass at the top and bottom of the chamber) and then a moment later, it was gone.
