“Dreze would never expect an attack from the north,” Erica felt great and more confident about things than she had in a long time. “There are ways to get through the Walls of Stone on his northern border.”
“Yeah, but how do the small group of us make any trouble for Dreze much less stop the bastard?” Bucks asked.
Erica smiled, “We don’t. The tribes do. This will give them a target for rage other than the king and give them a source for loot and supplies. It won’t take much convincing because war is already brewing under the failure of the crops and raids by the frost giants. They have received no assistance from the capital so things are bad.”
“Then we should see about contacting the tribes and see if we can get things going,” the Prince spoke.
“We could be heroes for the this,” the Baron stood up or at least tried to as he fell back to his chair and lifted his mug. “To glory and victory over the armies of Dreze!”
This brought cheers from the rest of the restaurant, there was little love for the Warlord and more than a little desire to get his land for their kingdom. The land Dreze ruled over was rich farmland in gentle weather something that was rare in Dar. The small group stumbled out of the restaurant with an entourage of people following them. It looked like they were going to continue the party at the inn and many would want to join them on this quest for glory, profits, and an adventure.
Erica knew this might not be the best way to start a surprise attack but she was enjoying the joy and happiness that filled the crowd. It reminded her of the lodges back in the tribal villages when they were celebrating a festival. As she took on the mantle of the Wolverine she had lost many friendships from her tribe because of the fear the others had for the spirit world. There would be some good to come out of this as word of the quest was certain to get the tribes coming to them right away. For now, it seemed like it was best to go to bed and get some sleep so she could see if this still seemed like a good idea in the morning.
