“I think grabbing a stash of mine close by would be our best move. It will contain money and weapons we may need.” Karas said contemplating their next move.
Mary thought Karas looked cute with her furrowed brow. Mary smiled at the little girl saying, “I am agreeable to the diversion. I trust your judgement so you guide us and that is the way we’ll go.” With Karas pointing a direction Mary guided the wagon down a small path headed to a remote location. Mary sang as they traveled with a soothing voice. Mary paused adding, “Why don’t I call you Kara from now on? Karas is a silly name for a beautiful young girl. We will draw undue attention if we don’t.” She hummed to herself waiting for an answer.
Karas considered it and figured it a reasonable idea. He hardly desired to have his reputation ruined with the knowledge of him as a little girl. There were those that would relish the thought of killing in this compromised position. He finally responded, “It would be best I agree to you calling me Kara. Keep following this trail a few hours till you reach a crossroad with a rock formation with some dwarven runes carved into it. When we get, there stop it is a short distance from there.”
Mary picked up her singing thinking what fun it would be to find buried treasure. She wondered what kind of wealth a mercenary might have accumulated over the years. The idea of gold and gems danced in her head.
