I will write my son a note that I will be gone for a spell. Than I think I will drop by the Kemptons they have a girl about your size and I will borrow a dress. You rest up and we will head out in the morning after you get some of your strength back. You can use the guest bedroom while I step out and run a few errands."
"I thank you for your continued assistance." Karas spoke grateful that she could finally get some rest. Karas made his way to the bedroom thinking about the prospect of wearing a dress tomorrow. She shrugged her shoulders, it would hardly be her worst experience in the last few days. Sliding into the comfy bed she finally began to feel the aches and pains from pushing her body so far. The full stomach and sheer exhaustion helped her into restful sleep with no worries pressing on her mind.
Mary visited her neighbors she arranged for their son to tend her place while she traveled. She also procured some clothes for Karas. After getting her things packed she set out Karas's new clothes. The morning went by in a flurry with a quick meal, loading and hitching the wagon. Mary kept pushing Karas to move more quickly helping him get dressed. Karas for her part felt the pain from the exertion to get to civilization so quickly in her muscles. Her tender feet throbbed and Karas winced a little sliding her shoes on. When Mary helped her onto the wagon she sighed with satisfaction at the prospect of riding on the journey. Mary fixed a blanket on Karas so the morning cool wouldn't bother her. She figured that Karas could rest and she would wake him when they reached the crossroad. She wondered which way too take to the Tranquil temple of Rinja the goddess of health.
Rinja's priests known for their healing powers and ability to remove curses seemed the best strategy for a cure. They maintained a beautiful temple outside the city of Busren. Busren a major city a week or twos travel depending on the path and troubles they faced.
