AN: From interactive "Fanfiction Gender Change", chapter originally written by Mr.George

The realisation came moments before the school's protective magic went to work.

"But..." Harry's protest... question was cut short, as the morality code took effect. Harry's messy hair exploded from his head, just as unkempt, but now resting on his shoulders. The other changes were just as rapid at coming. His hands jumping to his chest, as he felt the T-shirt vanish, or rather transfigure into a bra.

The painful constriction, and empty cups not a problem after a few seconds, as she lost and gained inches in all the right places. Her swelling bust pushing the numb hands backwards as they filled with soft breasts. Hermione blushed, as Harry looked awkwardly at her. Harry having to look up a few inches from her new height. She fought the compulsion to check that she was fully female, the last changes taking place beneath her trousers, the tailoring adjusting to accommodate wider hips, and a fuller rear.

It was a sign or Hermione's distress that she hadn't realised this was going to happen.

Harry's mouth opened, but fell silent, as she recalled Hermione's anger with Ron. She didn't want that cold fury directed at herself.

Hermione's face flashed through a complex, confusing set of emotions. Anger, fear, confusion, humiliation... her cheeks taking a faint pink hue, as she hid her face lowering her gaze to the floor. She sat back on the bed, her face hidden behind a curtain of hair.

"Sorry... Er... Sorry about that..."

Without looking up, she indicated Harry's new body.

Feeling very odd, not sure what to say, especially as she felt her bust softly bounce when she shrugged as if it were no big deal.

With a resigned sigh she asked, "What did the silly bugger do?" The voice was soft and sweet, airy and dreamy, it reminded Harry of Luna.

Lowering herself to half-kneel in front of her friend, she took Hermione's hand and stroked it.

"I'm sure... I'm sure he deserved.... she deserved it. Ron can be a right pillock."

The very Ron insult made Hermione snort, almost a laugh as a smile returned to her face.

She patted the bed beside her, inviting Harry to join her. Her cheeks were still flushed, but she started slowly gaining confidence as she spoke.

"It was probably Ron's version of a good idea. Veritaserum..." The potion name conjured up bad memories for Harry, of Snape's threats, and the revealing of treasured secrets. Without hearing more, he knew a trust was breached.

"I tasted it straight away." she spoke faster, as if rushing to the conclusion.

"He denied it at first, and the argument escalated, I.... I... I said too much." she finished on the verge of sobbing.

"I don't know what he wanted to find out in the heat of the argument, it was probably something stupid like finding out what to get for my birthday, or an honest opinion..."

Harry let her gather her thoughts.

"But I blurted out my insecurities... and before ... and then... well... one petrification spell later. Ron is frozen and unable to resist as I pour the remains into his mouth."

"I was... I was still angry... I pushed too much... too far..."

The pain, the regret was clear in her voice.

"I asked him about his perfect girl.... and he told me."

She fell silent for a very long time. Cautiously, Harry reached an arm around her shoulder and held her as she sobbed. Harry couldn't fully hide her smile, as she understood the bustiness of Ronni the house-elf. She sincerely hoped that Colin Creevey caught a picture of her for later teasing. But that was for later.

Warily, attempting a joke, Harry observed, "You did know Ron wasn't complex. She'll probably appreciate the experience... well, in a week or two with a little perspective."

Gently, she shook Hermione's shoulder, "Besides, the best revenge would be to tell the twins. Then Ronni will be remembered forever."
