Well, Jon wasn't fat anymore, but he wasn't back to himself either. The person sitting in the kitchen was still a girl and she was still black. But now she was a lot thinner. Definitely not overweight, although she did seem to be large in the breast and ass departments, but that was typical of black girls, right?
The new Jonella looked at Karyn, who rushed into the room. "Girl, why da hell you be runnin' like dat for?"
"It didn't work," Karyn said, mostly to herself. She wished that Jonella wouldn't be a fat girl. But it didn't get granted the way she wanted. She assumed that Jonella would become a boy, since she wished that she wasn't a girl. But then she realized that maybe the wish was granted so that Jonella wasn't a fat girl, but some other kind of "girl" instead. Maybe she should have wished for her to become a boy instead. Well, it was too late now, right? Her wish made Jonella be some kind of other girl (a relatively thin black girl), so wouldn't wishing her to be a boy be a contradiction to her wish? She slapped her forehead with her hand, feeling so stupid. Why didn't she think about this beforehand?
"Honey, look you distressed. Tell mamma what's wrong," Jonella said.
"It's the stone. I tried to wish things back to normal, but ..."
"I already told ya, Karyn. I like dis new life. I ain't never wanna be dat white boy Jon again. An you can't make me," she said, grabbing the stone out of Karyn's hand.
"Jon!"
"I told ya, Karyn. Mah name be Jonella now. An it best be time you start callin' me dat." She squeezed the stone in her dark-skinned hand and said "I wish ..."
