The battle of Hogwarts had marked the end for a very dark chapter for the Malfoy family. They were left abandoned and ostracised by many wizards. However, while the defenders of the school, were glad to be shot of Draco and his kin. There were others... former friends who felt that their behaviour was a betrayal, and that such things should not go unpunished.
Even now almost a year later.
Draco heard the silence fall whenever he walked into a room. His results were ... not great ... but good enough to get him into University.
It was only afterwards that he learned that both Hermione Granger and Harry Potter were studying there too. His new social life was not a giddyingly busy affair. It pleased and irked him that the Weasley boy, a pure-blood, hadn't got in. He was off studying dragons with his brother or something like that.
Draco was glad to be far from the isolation of the highlands and the wilds of Hogwarts.
'Beansprout University' was situated in London. Even to muggle eyes it was a baroque building, that twisted people's vision making them dismiss it. The magic of the buildings allowed some rather slender towers and eccentric walkways. The spell around the grounds, made it appear almost mundane to those bystanders and less perceptive types.
Draco was unaware that he was being observed.
The student register flicked to the page he wanted, and he saw that Harry Potter was working to be an Auror. While Hermione's studies were less clearly defined, which Draco took to mean as being more experimental.
He wasn't interested in them... or so he told himself, but he didn't want to run into them by accident. He had heard of a parchment or something similar that could track a magician's position. That sounding like a promising line for him to follow.
