Harry and Hermione looked at Ron.
"Is this about ... what you saw in the mirror, Ron?" Harry asked.
Hermione scowled, this was something the boys had refused to share with her. Although from what she'd heard, it might be rather personal so she let it drop.
"No...." Ron protested. "That's not it..." he looked briefly at the floor before raising his head.
"It's just Hermione... you're the smartest witch in this year... if not the school. And Harry, you've ... you've got an intuitive grasp of magic, you just know instinctively what to do... So... So if something goes wrong...."
"Nothing is going to go wrong." Harry said firmly.
Hermione said nothing, although her jaw muscles tightened.
Ron took that as the end of the discussion, and snatching up the tiny phial, he swallowed the contents in one gulp.
He felt his vision swim straight away, and he lowered himself to the ground. The girls' bathroom swam, unnervingly as he felt the magic work it's way through his veins. The slightest tilt... and movement of his head, send giddy waves through him. It felt like ... like ... that time the twins had gotten him drunk.
A one off event, the punishment from their mother ensured there was NEVER a repeat experience.
There was a tingle from his fingers. Ron giggled as he held his hand in front of his face.
