That day at school was perfectly orchestrated, at lunch several of the girls had met up to discuss their situation and during that time Miss Holloway had been ready and seized the opportunity to seal her deal, turning their attention to the new squad members, Karen, Athena, Kayla, Gladys, and some shrimpy nobody girl named Sarah. All of them standing together talking just made her assertions look true, and each of them being made to stand before their peers with the stares and awkward confused applause that came with it made each of them feel overwhelmed and confused and in the case of Athena, angry.
That night Karyn called up Jon and insisted on coming over.
"Your a cheerleader now? Is this an after affect of your wish?" Jon asked looking obviously at her chest.
"No, it's Miss Holloway on a power trip, she wants to make up a super inclusive cheer team and she just put us on it." Karyn replied, you could hear the stress in her voice.
"I was hoping to use the stone to make this all go away."
Jon was concerned about using the stone, for anything after what had happened the previous times, and had kept it hidden away.
"I'm not sure I like the idea of what that might do, but then again I don't like the idea of you being forced to be a Cheerleader either."
"I'll be super careful with how I word it, but it seems like such an easy fix."
Jon went and got the rock and handed it to Karyn.
Karyn held the rock and looked at it carefully, deep in thought about exactly how to word her wish.
"I wish....." she paused unsure of what to say but at this point already trapped in whatever reality the next thing she would say would create. "that the girls who were at the meeting today weren't on the Cheer squad...unless they wanted to be."
The stone buzzed and beeped and glowed brightly. Suddenly she felt the world shift. She could tell things were not the same.
Her phone rang, it was Miss Holloway.
