"Yea, I can see that and it's really starting to scare me."
The two boys looked up at him. He was now over a foot taller than they were. "You don't sound scared," Trevor said.
"I know...I know I'm scared, but I...don't feel it," Brandon said.
The two boys looked at him. "Does it hurt?" Bobby asked.
"No..." Brandon said. "It tingles a bit."
Mary burst into the room and then stopped. A look of confusion came onto her face the moment she got close to Brandon. She had this feeling of unease for a moment. "Brandon, can you come downstairs for a second? Elizabeth wants to know where you got your boots..." She continued to frown, feeling like she'd come up here for something else.
"Mom...don't you see what is happening to me?" Brandon said, still not panicking, but sounding concerned about his mother. What was wrong with her?
"I'm not sure what you are talking about," she said, turning around and heading back downstairs. "Come down..."
Brandon looked at his friends. "Did you see that?" He found that even weirder than what was happening to him. "What am I going to do?"
"Tell our Mom," the boys suggested. "She'll know what to do."
