As Brandon and Mary headed back to Mary's car, Brandon tripped over a piece of chipped concrete on the ground, causing him to stumble forward, the motion causing the pearl necklaces he had stolen to come out of their hiding place.
Mary heard Brandon yelp along with the sound of the pearls jingling and when she turned around, she saw them dangling from Brandon's neck. Needless to say she was stunned by noticing this. "Brandon...where did you get those?" she asks as she points at them.
He glances down to see what she's pointing at and when he notices the necklaces are now out in the open, his face becomes a beet red. "Oh uh...I found them." he says, making up something.
His mother isn't buying it in the least as she just shakes her head. "You stole those from the shop didn't you? Well we're just going to take those back right now." she says as she grabs his hand and starts to march him back towards the store but they notice something strange.
