The moment she said it, Brandon could feel something change.
"Silly?" He asked, his voice dropping into a clearly female register. "I'm not silly."
He gently released Mary so he could get a look at what was happening. He should have never let Elizabeth be alone with Mary.
He turned to check on Bobby and Trevor. "I don't think this can be fixed," he told them.
"What do you mean?" Trevor asked.
Brandon exhaled, feeling a warmth in the pit of his stomach, and then a few seconds later... "I'm a girl now," she said...just knowing without even having to look.
