Brandon helped his mother undress and get into the tub, after filling it with warm water.
It didn't seem to bother him. But, he realized it was more of whatever had made him not notice the changes for the longest time. He had to keep reminding himself.
He helped her wet her hair and began to apply baby shampoo. Mary dunked her head into the water. She then occupied herself with a little random splashing about.
He went into her bedroom and laid out her nightgown, when he returned, Brandon noticed the water seemed to be having an effect on her. He'd heard that some things shrunk in warm water...but people? When she'd gone into the water she'd been a fully developed woman. But the warmth seemed to be causing her breasts to lose their definition.
He helped her out of the water, and she started shivering. Getting her a towel, he could see that while she was still the same size, or at least he thought she was, she looked more like a giant kid than ever. She was completely flat-chested and a bit gawky.
Her hair had also lightened. It had been brown, but it looked to be almost a blond.
He had her sit down so he could dry and brush her hair. Then he helped her into a nightgown. "It's almost time for bed," he said. "Why don't you play for a few minutes before I tuck you in?"
"Will you tell me a story?" Mary chirped, her voice hitting a slightly higher pitch.
"Of course," he said.
She gave him a big hug. "Love you."
Brandon smiled. A wonderful feeling came over him. He felt happy, as if Mary's love was the most important gift he could ever hope for.
He sat down to relax for a few minutes, settling through the channels before he stopped on the local news. He sat there for a few minutes, watching, before something hit him like a ton of bricks.
They take care of you and read you a story before bedtime. They make sure you pick up your toys, and help you take a bath, and lay out clothes for you. All sorts of stuff. Then, they watch The News on TV.
"I'm the Mommy," he exclaimed in shock.
