He blinked again.
His mother didn't seem to see the confusion on his face. She hurried to turn the TV and started flipping through the channels.
"Mom..." he called. She didn't respond. He tried again.
A stern look crossed his face. He walked in between her and the TV. "Mary Thomas, do you hear me?"
She looked up. "Yes," she said.
"Why didn't you answer when I called you?"
"You called Mom," she said.
"That's you."
She had a confused look on her face for a moment. "I forgot." she asked. "I don't want to play house anymore."
"Playing House?"
"Where I'm the Mommy," she said, innocently. "I want to watch cartoons, and Mommys don't watch cartoons."
