Michelle and Diane got back to campus to start the fall semester. JoAnn and Penny shared the Proctor room with the other 2 girls. The girls talked about what colleges they were going to apply to during breaks from their homework. JoAnn started dating one of the boys from her English class last year. He was a sweet guy who was friendly to the other 3 girls in the room, when he wasn't kissing JoAnn. They would occasionally sneak off to her room and put a sock on the door. A bunch of guys decided to ask out Diane and Michelle this fall for some reason. They, along with Penny, guessed the guys figured this was their last year, so they had nothing to lose. Diane and Michelle said they were focusing on their studies and sport, while Penny just stared at the boy until they left.
The soccer team was undefeated during the regular season, with Celeste as captain and Michelle dominating the midfield. Celeste tried to convince Michelle to date her brother, unsuccessfully. She also reminded Michelle that she was welcome down south this winter, when it got cold. There was a beach with their name on it.
College applications were sent in for early action/decision. Michelle decided on Yale, since Karyn made it sound so good. Diane thought it would be a good school to go to for undergrad, with some amazing clubs and an excellent pre-law program. Penny decided on University of Oregon, partly for the education, but also for the strong occult scene where she could try to hone her magic detecting ability. JoAnn tried to Brown, figuring why not?
Michelle used the necklace monthly, as she did last year. What was odd was that Davis starting changing into Davonne after months of not doing so. He went all summer as himself and the first few weeks of senior year. It was once in October, then 3 times in November. At least, that Michelle noted in the picture changing. Maybe he missed some, which was interesting based on how adamant he was about not being pregnant. After the 3rd time, Michelle and Diane called him to see what was going on . Apparently, he discovered the world of maternity modelling. It was even more lucrative than his usual modelling the last year or two. He was running low on money from working for his uncle, and so he went back to his old sites and sources to get gigs. The usual jobs weren't being offered, since he wasn't a size 00 anymore. He figured a couple of days a month wouldn't be much of a problem for years. Plus, apparently, he wasn't pregnant enough for some jobs. Diane was about to insist that he not do that, but Michelle stopped her. It was his decision, even though it wasn't a good one. They texted Henry about it, who replied that he let Davis have it since it was his life to live. Diane was upset at the two for not doing more to help Davis.
Just before the first trimester ended, Michelle and Diane got e-mails welcoming them to Yale. Penny was off to Oregon, and JoAnn was deferred. Karyn welcomed Michelle to her school and encouraged her to visit at some point. Michelle went back home and went back into Mikey mode. His parents were over the moon about his acceptance to Yale. It even overshadowed Jon's new success with his tech to help get clean water from ambient air. The cost was minimal, and he was hoping to sell the tech to business and governments. If not, he would make the tech open-source so anyone could do it. Zoe was talking about the MCAT for med school. Everyone ate too much turkey before enjoying a movie as a family. His parents announced that for this year's vacation, they wanted to do a walking tour of Europe and the UK. They would start in Edinburgh and end up in Lisbon. Apparently, there were companies that carted your luggage around and you walked like 10 miles a day though small towns and stuff. Jon said he didn't have time with his business ventures and finishing school for a walk in the woods, but would join here and there. Zoe would go for a week in June, then she had a research position starting at Mass General until basically school started. Mikey wanted to see London and Paris. He would fly over there this summer to see them. He talked to Diane that night, and they planned on meeting up in Paris for a bit.
Michelle and Diane went back to Deerfield. Michelle was thrown into volleyball. Once again, she and Celeste carried the team to victory. The team also continued it's tradition of talking about boys and their penis size. This year, Michelle put on her necklace for a whole afternoon and was apparently on varsity squash. The practice was him trying to figure out 2 seasons of squash in 2 hours. By the end, the other guys weren't picking on him as much for his off day. They did pick on him for the necklace though. . He went to the shower and took a mental note of each guy's size, so he could report back to the girls on the volleyball team. It wasn't until a few minutes into the shower that he realized that he hadn't showered in the men's locker room since freshman year. He had been at Deerfield as Michelle much longer than he had been at Deerfield as Mikey. Much longer. And he was going to finish the year as Michelle. He was drying off thinking about how much fun he had as Michelle, movie nights, painting nails, dancing for no reason and being able to room with his love, Diane. After he was dressed, and walking back to the dorm, he thought about how good his life was as Michelle. When no one was looking in a nook in the library, he took off his necklace and went into the dorm. He thought of himself as a spy for the women's volleyball team rather than a guy getting to see the girl's locker room. Michelle ended up not sharing her newfound knowledge with anyone. Christmas break snuck up on Michelle and soon she was home.
