I wish...
Careful! You could change everything about yourself or us...it's no different than killing.
I wish...
"Wish we were dudes again!" Miranda yelled.
"That doesn't work, we already tried it." Jenny shot down.
"Wish us to be less cheerleaderish..."
"Wish us to not have to be cheerleaders."
"Wish up some revenge on Sarah, she's the reason we are in this situation"
Delia took in all the requests of her peers...and made her wish
She wanted to be popular and fit in with the group, she wanted to be her old self again, she wanted this to never have happened.....
"I wish...I wasn't Delia, that none of this had happened to me."
A blinding flash and she was gone!
"Holy shit!"
"What happened?"
"I don't know! It doesn't tell me how it grants wishes!"
Jade pushed the rock at Jenny. "Wish to know how it works!"
Nadine jumped in "No! Don't! it just vaporized someone!"
"Maybe she's Derick again and living like it never happened?" Miranda optimized.
"Or maybe she's vaporized!" Nadine countered. "Hell I'll be a cheerleader, it's better than that!"
Karyn turned with concern to her best friend. "Jenny it's your stone, what do you want to do?"
Jenny stood where Delia had stood, where now there was only the stone. She bent down to pick it up, half expecting it to shock her when she touched it. It was cool to the touch and mundane. She held it in her hand.
"I think.....I think...." This could save the day, it had the power to, but so far it had only caused further confusion.
"Oh Hell" Nadine said, as she reached in, grabbed the stone and threw it out an open window.
"Oh, nice Nadine, you just threw away our one ticket out of this!" Trinity glared
"Magic isn't going to save us, it's only going to make things worse! We need to have faith!" Nadine justified.
"Oh in God? This is clearly out of his view!" Jade threw in.
"I wasn't talking about God. I was talking about each other. We got this, the group of us, as long as we don't lose our minds like Delia did, we can find a way to confront Mrs. Holloway, maybe get our lives back eventually." Nadine really hadn't been thinking about God at all, she just didn't want to see another person disappear in thin air.
"or be stuck like this." Jade shot back.
"At least we know what we'll be, it's better than the unknown."
There was a silence for a moment as tempers settled.
It was Jenny who broke the silence.
"Nadine is right, the stone was only making things worse, and it's still out there in the form of Mrs. Holloway, she's the real problem. She gave us the weekend to work out if we want to join the team....we should try and face that problem. I'm not sure what a "no" to a magical being means. This could still get a lot worse on its own without the help of the stone. We need to face this together."
It was a stirring enough speech to get them all to stop fighting out loud, but not enough to get them talking again.
"Let's take a break" Karyn offered. "Meet up tonight at the mall and go from there."
They all agreed, and went on their ways.
