Trinity stared at the mosh pit.

Just like she had been for the last 10 minutes.

For some reason, she couldn't bring herself to enter. As Derek, she had spent most of her time at concerts in the pit. For some reason, though, she was now feeling nothing but trepidation.

Finally, she growled. "Fuck this..." She turned her back to the pit and headed toward the bar. She needed a drink.

It was tough moving through the crowd, but a lot of guys seemed to make special note to give her leeway.

That just pissed her off more.

Finally, she made it to the bar and waited for the server to notice her. After a few moments, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Drake smiling at her.

"You want me to spot you?" he asked.

Trinity let out a low growl. "I can get my own drink, Drake."

"I know you can, but I figured I would offer."

She rolled her eyes. She had seen Drake's tactics before, but from the other side of the gender barrier. It was just last weekend that they were out at a club, and he had been trying this same thing on...well, any girl who would give him the time of day.

"I'm fine, thanks."

"Aww, come on Trin. Pretty sure I owe ya for a ride or something."

Trinity sighed. "Fine. If it'll get you off my back..."

"Cool, what do you want?"

"A water is fine."

"Ooh, playing it safe tonight?"

"I have shit to do in the morning. Don't wanna deal with a hangover at the same time."

Drake chuckled at that, ordering a couple of waters. "Fun times with the pep squad?"

For a moment, Trinity was taken out of the conversation. Memories of Drake saying that exact thing to her before, even before they had been chosen as the new cheerleaders.

Trinity shook her head, then smirked. "Yeah, exactly. We need to get fitted for our pompoms."

"Well, I for one can not wait to see you shaking your stuff out on the football field." Drake said, holding one of the bottles out for her to take.

"Nothing's set in stone yet. Sorry to disappoint, but I don't think I'll be out on any field shaking anything." she said, grabbing the bottle. To her disdain, he didn't let go.

"That's a shame. Would be interesting to see some attitude to that shit show." Drake said, looking into her eyes and smiling.

She pulled on the water bottle, yanking it out of his hand. She could feel her face heating up. "Noted. I better get back to Zoe and Athena."

She turned and hurried away from the boy. It took her a few minutes to track the two other girls down.

"Welcome back." Athena said.

"You look flustered." Zoe added. "Drake again?"

Trinity scowled. "Why would you assume that?"

"He's totally into you, and he's one of the only people I've seen ever get this kind of reaction out of you. You should go for it."

Trinity could feel her face heating up again. "Shut it, squirt."

"Have you decided not to try the mosh pit?" Athena asked.

Trinity glanced back toward the pit and shook her head. "No, not feeling it now. Maybe later."

Zoe smirked. "Sure, sure. You can just admit that you realized it's a dumb idea."

"Zoe, it's like you want me to hit you." Trinity said.

Zoe kept smirking. "You wouldn't, because you love me. And it would piss Jen off, too."

"Like I'm worried about your sister. She wouldn't do anything to me..." Trinity trailed off at the end. This conversation seemed familiar.

"Yeah, I can't really imagine her ever actually trying anything. But she can be passive aggressive as shit. You'd be in for one hell of a silent treatment from her and Karyn."

"Been there. No big..." Trinity said. "Whatever, enough of this bull shit. Let's just pay attention to the show."

Zoe and Athena shrugged and turned their attention to the stage. Trinity shook her head. Something was happening. That bitch's magic was still working on her, she was almost positive.

And she would be getting answers tomorrow.
