A lot happened quickly, Miranda, Jade, and Nadine went to tell Sarah, Delia and Trinity. All of them were together at Sarah's house. They had mixed reactions to the news, Delia was pretty much the same as the rest of the girls, a mix of disapointment and outrage with just a small amount of suprise. Trinity was angry, for one because she was pulled out of a concert with her friends to come to this "emerency meeting" and more so because she finally had someone who she could blame and fight for her woes and she planned on making Jen pay. Sarah was more hurt than anything, here she thought that some magic had blessed her, as if she had been choosen for a gift and now it seemed she too was just a pawn, Mis Holloway was just using her for her wish, and it turns out that what she wanted and what she hoped for didn't matter at all. It was all just part of some other game that was being played out. For the first time Sarah felt the raw end of the magic that all the other girls had felt and was humbled by it.
Karyn and Jen had gone home. Karyn was conflicted, she hadn't made the wish but she was Jen's friend, and had known what had gone on, but she was also the one who pulled the information out into the open. It really depended on how she played it. If she stuck close to Jen, as she felt she should she would risk alienating herself from the group, and there was something inside herself that said that was a bad thing to do. She wanted to belong, she didn't want to be hated, she didn't want the ire of the girls as she had seen it turned on Jen to be turned on her. But Jen was her friend, so she walked with Jen back to her place, Jen was clearly shaken by what had happened. Jen had always thought of herself as a victim, not the cause of the chaos that hounded them, yet now she was forced to face the fact that this was her own fault, not on purpose, but it was still her actions which lead to all of this happening. She felt guilt, shame, ostrasized, and most of all like a bad person, giving into self pity. Karyn did her best to try and cheer Jen up but their didn't seem to be much point.
About 2 hours after the girls parted ways they both received texts. To Jen it was a threat from Trinity, saying she better watch her back because she was about to find out what a bitch girls could be to each other. Karyn received a different text, from Miranda, which said, "make a choice."
Karyn looked at Jen who was clearly scared, and she did something she didn't think she would have done before. She excused herself. Jen didn't want her to go, begged her not to. But Karyn did. Jen was alone.
There was a lot of crying. Jen didn't know what to do, she thought about turning to anyone for help, even Mis Holloway. At the very least this had thrown a wrench in her plans of making them all friends, but she didn't trust this new "fairey Godmother" which was wise.
She still had the stone. She turned it over in her hands over and over. She didn't want to make things worse, but she didn't think things were going to get better. She was alone, she didn't see a way of making things better, Trinty was coming, the girls were going to make her life a living hell. Maybe even Karyn, she couldn't stand the idea of Karyn hurting her, but the image of it passed through her mind as her imagination dreamed up worse and worse fates for herself.
Jen grabed the stone and made a life changing wish.
"I wish they weren't mad at me."
The room flashed. Then flashed again.
