"That went...well?" Karyn asked, looking around the group.
"Yeah, great. Can't wait to spend more of my time with Sarah tomorrow. As for today, I need to get home and scrub the feeling this mall gives me off. Later..." Trinity said, walking away from the group.
"She's so fun to deal with..." Delia said. "Like having a cobra wrapped around you..."
"Ironic that you feel that way." Jade said, approaching Delia. "From what I learned last night, the two of you...in this new universe, at least, are quite close."
"What? Me and her?" Delia said, pointing at the retreating goth girl. "She acts like she hates all of us, and was making fun of me every time she talked to me."
"I'm just reporting what I found. In many, many pictures that I saw, the two of you were always hanging out together. I would liken it to Jen and Karyn." Jade responded, referencing the pair.
"I find it hard to believe Trinity could be that close with anyone..." Jen said. "I saw her, before the change, hanging around with my sister. She's always been snarky and tough to be around."
"To be fair, we don't know what Trinity is really like. The way this Trinity acts is not indicative of her true nature." Jade said. "But, as I said, every one of us, in this new reality, are close friends."
"What else did you find?" Delia asked. "I didn't even think to look into Facebook or anything."
"Not surprising. The shock of dealing with your families and other aspects of your change must have been quite a lot to deal with. I had an advantage there, with my parents working late into the night. I had plenty of time to research." Jade said. "Aside from this 'core' group, I did see members of our old social circles in some pictures. Parties, larger social events, etc."
"Well, that's good." Karyn said. "At least our bridges haven't been burned for us."
"I also noticed that each of us were, to some degree at least, in relationships in the past. Though, none of us are attached at the moment, thank goodness." Jade said.
"When...when you say we were in relationships, were they...?" Randi began asking.
"Heterosexual relationships? Yes. Each and every one of our new selves has been in some manner of a relationship with a male." Jade responded.
"Great..." Randi said. "Awesome news..."
"Well, you're single now." Delia said, shrugging. "So...that's good. Right?"
"I...I guess." Randi added. "This is too much, man."
"Hmmm, maybe we should check our profiles out. Learn more about our new lives." Jen said.
"I'd recommend it. Especially since people will be expecting, I'm sure, us to act as our new selves."
"Come on, Jen. We can go do that now." Karyn said. "I guess we'll see you all tomorrow."
"I should go as well." Nadine said. "I want to ensure that my new self is..." she started, then paused, blushing. "I...should go." she said, walking away.
"Yeah, see you later." Jen said, as the pair left.
"I guess I'll go, too." Randi said. "You want a ride, Jade?"
"Yeah, that would be great." Jade said. She looked back at Delia, who looked down at the floor. "Say, would you like to come over to my house, Delia? I could use another set of eyes when researching. I may miss something."
"That...that would be great." Delia said, smiling.
With that, the trio left the food court.
