And so, slowly, the group returned to the food court, where they found Sarah sitting exactly where they had left her.
"You...you all came back." Sarah said.
"Yeah, I guess we did." Jen said, looking around. "We just figured...maybe we should give you a second chance." she said, referencing to herself and Karyn. The rest of the group nodded, except for Trinity.
"Thank you. I...I really do feel bad about you being dragged into this against your will." Sarah said. "I want you all to know that. I would have never done this to you maliciously. No matter whether we got along or not."
"I would hope not." Jade said.
"But, your hands aren't clean in all of this." Trinity said. "You still got Holloway to do this."
"I know. And I realize now how stupid and selfish that was, but...like I said, everything was falling away from me. I just wanted something to go right, you know?" Sarah said.
"We do have questions. It wasn't just our lives that were changed. Our families are different too." Randi said.
"Yeah, like your dad buying into my dad's business." Trinity said.
"Or...my parents still being together." Delia said.
"I don't know anything about that. All she told me was that she would make a good team." Sarah said. "She never said anything about messing with their families."
"Well, I wanna find out what's going on." Trinity said.
"I'll look into it." Sarah said. "If you want to come back to my house, we can see if we can find anything."
"I can't." Trinity said, pulling out her phone and looking at it. "I have other plans tonight. Gonna need to get there soon."
Jen nodded at that, knowing Trinity meant the concert Zoe had mentioned the previous day.
"Tomorrow then." Sarah said. "All of you come to my house tomorrow, and I'll try to have as much information as I can find." she added, standing up from the table.
The rest of the group looked at each other, and slowly consented.
"Great, then it's a plan. Oh, and bring swim suits. My parents opened our pool last week, and it's supposed to be nice out tomorrow. Might as well enjoy our Sunday." Sarah said. "See you then."
"What did we just get ourselves into?" Randi asked.
